Back to the real thing!

I do have hobbies. Sometimes. More or less.
Just that it was that stupid horrid final exam(!) now.
And I had to seek distraction. Loads of.
But I went. I really did go. Went in and wrote. My first final ever!
Sod the grade. Been there done that. I'll survive.
Up to the future.
Here I come. Haha!!!

Resume
Relativity Blues

How can there be no rules no more
Well, everything is relative
So they say in factual land
Go and make the best of it
Drag yourself out of your quicksand
...and they leave me with no bearings
So, leave me, let the changeling be
Everything is relative
So that's true then, everyone
But what can I make of it
If I feel my life's undone
...where am I to find my bearings

BurnedOut
I can do nothing more
I feel weak
Weak every day, every hour
I must reek
I can do nothing more
I feel torn
Tattered and ragged
From skin to bone worn
Open a window
A wall I can climb
Right through a door
On a cliff left behind
Tear up an abyss
And let me drop by
High as a kite
And as drawn as the sky
I can do nothing more
Drown down my virtues
And scrap my skin bare
Self-hatred nurtures
On faith and despair
All of my hopes
That I solemnly stored
Now suddenly crushed
With their woes unexplored
I can do nothing more
I feel weak
Weak every day, every hour
I must reek
I can do nothing more
I feel torn
Tattered and ragged
From skin to bone worn
Drain up my body
And spill out my blood
Bend down my sinews
And lead out my gut
Nothing to help
And yet no more to hide
Just let me drift
And be gone with the tide
I can do nothing more
I feel weak
Weak every day, every hour
I must reek
I can do nothing more
I feel torn
Tattered and ragged
From skin to bone worn...

My most favourite band of all is to be found online.
Properly! And up-to-date.

Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!
Some kill their love when they are young,
And some when they are old;
Some strangle with the hands of Lust,
Some with the hands of Gold:
The kindest use a knife, because
The dead so soon grow cold.
Some love too little, some too long,
Some sell, and others buy;
Some do the deed with many tears,
And some without a sigh:
For each man kills the thing he loves,
Yet each man does not die.

SINGING FOR THE LONELY
Shape up! Shape up! Shape up!
But it's sooo difficult if the world is constantly shaping you down.
Very frustrating that is.
Well, who would have thought that I ever felt in tune with
Robbie Williams...
Singing for the lonely
Here comes wasted head-space
I don't wake up early every morning
Tender young confusion
I'm so sick of people's expectations
I seem to spend my life
The hooligan half of me
I'm so sick of people's expectations
Singing for the lonely

Give me a hint with a hammer
Or give me a hit with a brick
Life is that dead old dilemma
Of chances unwilling to pick
In dark deep the shadows are trailing
Like pieces of sick cloth on string
A longing of mourning and wailing
When wet to your body they cling
Yet, I cannot give my soul in
Hand back that dead carcass of mine
Nothing to make me old heart sing
Has left heaven’s torment in time

Why can't Christmas ever stay nice?
You're always looking forward to it, singing along....
And then - BANG - that stressful feeling hits you with a brick.
I am disappointed.

Poppy-Day
It's Poppy-Day today and the Germans are starting Carnival.
Well... what can you say....
Do not live in Cologne then!
The first person I saw today was a cow. Followed by a tiger and a chicken.
While I was on my way to have my wisdom-tooth extracted.
Odd day. Very odd.

O Tell Me The Truth About Love
And some say it's a bird,
Some say it makes the world go around,
And some say that's absurd,
And when I asked the man next-door,
Who looked as if he knew,
His wife got very cross indeed,
And said it wouldn't do.
Does it look like a pair of pyjamas,
Or the ham in a temperance hotel?
Does its odour remind one of llamas,
Or has it a comforting smell?
Is it prickly to touch as a hedge is,
Or soft as eiderdown fluff?
Is it sharp or quite smooth at the edges?
O tell me the truth about love.
Our history books refer to it
In cryptic little notes,
It's quite a common topic on
The Transatlantic boats;
I've found the subject mentioned in
Accounts of suicides,
And even seen it scribbled on
The backs of railway guides.
Does it howl like a hungry Alsatian,
Or boom like a military band?
Could one give a first-rate imitation
On a saw or a Steinway Grand?
Is its singing at parties a riot?
Does it only like Classical stuff?
Will it stop when one wants to be quiet?
O tell me the truth about love.
I looked inside the summer-house;
It wasn't even there;
I tried the Thames at Maidenhead,
And Brighton's bracing air.
I don't know what the blackbird sang,
Or what the tulip said;
But it wasn't in the chicken-run,
Or underneath the bed.
Can it pull extraordinary faces?
Is it usually sick on a swing?
Does it spend all its time at the races,
or fiddling with pieces of string?
Has it views of its own about money?
Does it think Patriotism enough?
Are its stories vulgar but funny?
O tell me the truth about love.
When it comes, will it come without warning
Just as I'm picking my nose?
Will it knock on my door in the morning,
Or tread in the bus on my toes?
Will it come like a change in the weather?
Will its greeting be courteous or rough?
Will it alter my life altogether?
O tell me the truth about love.
[W.H. Auden ]
